Competitor backlink analysis shows which sites link to competing pages and where you have no links. Comparing the two is often called a link gap or backlink gap.

The output is a list of linking sites and pages. It tells you where to look, not whether a link is worth pursuing, so you still judge each one for relevance.

What to check before choosing

• How many competitors you can compare at once on your plan.
• Whether the tool has its own link index or licenses one, and how it describes update frequency.
• Whether it shows anchor text, referring domains and link context, not only counts.
• Whether history is included, so you can see links that were lost.
